You may think that the worst mistake someone could make is repeating the same mistakes over and over. Well, you're wrong. There's something even worse: being afraid of making any mistake at all! Here are 5 important reasons why you should let go and understand that making mistakes sometimes is absolutely normal:
1) You let opportunities pass you by.
Being afraid of making mistakes means that you hesitate when it comes to do something different. That's why you are always hidden in your comfort zone. However you need to understand that this fear prevents you from becoming a better person or from achieving something you really want. It might be the most simple thing in the world, such as changing your bedroom's colour. All it takes is a decision.
2) You can't easily forgive people.
People who never let themselves make a mistake are like that: they always criticize other's mistakes and they get disappointed by people around them way too easily. This happens because they're used in being always "right" and they can't recognize that some people make mistakes more often! If you are one of these people, then you need to start forgiving people, especially if they are your loved ones. Some mistakes are just too minor, but still they happen.
3) You can't let yourself fall in love.
It's a typical mistake of people who don't want to make mistakes! They won't fall in love, they won't create a romantic relationship, they won't trust a person, because he/she might be wrong for them. In addition, they think that all relationships will soon be over, that love is a lie and that no one can be trusted. Just think about this famous quote: “It is a risk to love. What if it doesn't work out? Ah, but what if it does", by Peter McWilliams.
4) You don't really know yourself.
You think you know yourself really well, but the truth is that if you never dared to discover your limits, then you have no idea who you are! Mistakes can help you find out more and more about yourself, about who you are, about your limits, about your capabilities, about what you can and cannot do.
5) You can't really reach success.
Letting yourself fall sometimes is the actual key for success. Most successful people got where they wanted to be in life with hard work and persistence. It may take years to reach the top, it may take several mistakes as well. Isn't it worth trying? It's up to you. Just remember that there may be times when you will fail and times when you are going to achieve success. Failure is often times a part of the path to success and embracing your mistakes will only help you grow on your journey to reaching your goals.
