7 Signs That People Who Like Solitude Are Highly Intelligent

People who like spending time alone aren't considered to be shy or depressed anymore. There are seven valuable reasons why these people are highly intelligent.

With all the accounts we have on social media, it has become easier for us to always connect with our friends. We find ourselves chatting, texting, or talking on Skype with each other every day!

Nevertheless, some people find themselves easily overwhelmed by constant communication and socializing, so they value their alone time more than anything. These people always find time for themselves to relax, think, meditate, be creative, or simply be on their own without doing anything.

While some people may think that the people who enjoy solitude are lonely and sad – that's not always the case. These people usually are happy with spending time alone, and that can often be a sign of high intelligence.

If you like spending time on your own, here are seven signs that you are highly intelligent.

1. You are self-confident

Spending time alone has helped you become more confident and sure of yourself and your decisions because you do not let others influence you when making up your mind. You do not find yourself bothering about others’ opinions, and you sure do not let others influence your mood. When you are alone, you spend time with your thoughts which gives you a broader perspective on things. That's a significant sign of intelligence!

2. You are more productive than most people

If you value your alone time, you are more productive in getting things done. That's because you distance yourself from everyone’s drama and don't get distracted by things that are not relevant to you. You can manage your time according to the things you need to do. This quality makes you more focused; you can meet deadlines and targets because you work without any distractions.

3. You are creative

Creativity is linked to high intelligence. When you decide to spend some time alone, you'll be able to do the things you love doing, but you never found the time; instead of doing only the things you're supposed to do. That boosts your creativity levels instantly. Enjoying having regular ‘me-times’ makes you more creative because your focus is only on yourself and the things you love doing. If you like to paint or write – this is your time!

4. You clear your mind from anxiety and stress

During your alone time, you learn how to block all the outside noises and feel calm and peaceful. You know how to clear your minds while listening to your own thoughts only. Moreover, you learn how to remain calm in stressful situations because during your alone time you learned how to listen to your feelings and not be bothered by others' problems and drama. Having a relaxed mind can boost your intelligence as well.

5. You are better at problem-solving

If you find a regular time for being on your own, it's possible that you're better at dealing with your problems and at finding solutions. That's because during your alone time you are more focused on your issues. You have time to think about the real cause of those problems and to find a solution that works best for you.

6. You are independent

If you enjoy your alone time, you gradually learn how to take care of yourself and become more independent. In the time you spend alone, you subconsciously become aware of the fact that in life we can only truly rely on ourselves. Moreover, when we learn how to take care of ourselves, our home, our finances, and so on, we feel like there isn’t a single thing that we cannot do! Only intelligent people can be truly independent!

7. You stay away from toxic people

If you appreciate the time you spend alone, it usually means that you also know how to choose your friends and your partners. You do not need to always be around someone, so you choose your company very carefully. You would never stay friends or in a relationship with a toxic person just because you don't want to be alone. That's how you manage to stay away from toxic people, and that's also a sign of intelligence.
