Psychological Art Test Uncovers Hidden Aspects Of Our Personalities Based On What We See First

Like a classic ink blot test, abstract pictures and the way we interpret art can reveal significant details about hidden aspects of our personalities, as well as the way we think.

The psychological benefits of art can also be incredible, as it encourages creative thinking, raises brain connectivity and plasticity, while also increases empathy, tolerance, and emotions of love.

Studies have discovered that mental decline was due mostly to the loss of communication among brain cells and not really from the dying of brain cells themselves. Art may be useful in getting both hemispheres of our brain communicating with each other, while it also enhances problem-solving skills as well.

In a study of more than 10,000 students, researchers found out that a one-hour trip to an art museum altered the way they thought and felt. Students who visited the art museum not only demonstrated increased critical thinking skills, but they also showed greater empathy towards the way people lived in the past and greater tolerance towards people who were different than themselves.

Researchers have also found that merely gives pleasure, much like falling in love. Brain scans indicated that looking at works of art can trigger a surge of dopamine in the same region of our brain that registers romantic love.

While the interpretation of what we see is ultimately up to us to decide, you can keep an open mind and might learn something interesting. Enjoy the wonderful benefits coming from enjoying artworks. Notice which of the following you first see when looking at the image below.

1. The Armored Knight

If you saw the armored knight in the picture, it reveals your desire to enjoy life and have fun, yet there might be some heavy inner emotional walls you have put up to protect yourself from being hurt.

You might have a sincere desire for friendship and loving relationships in your life, as well as the stable presence of a caring loved one. You need to spend some time letting your feelings open up through the practice of self-compassion; begin with healthy personal affirmations like, “I'm lovable, I am good enough, I deserve love and stability in my life.” Then take some time in a settled peaceful place to focus on the feeling of love in your heart. Once you can steadily feel the love, start to bring that love to the ‘you’ within your feelings of hurt that might have originated from the past. Tell this past, hurt part of yourself how much you love it, as consciously feeling the love towards this part of you will compel it to open up, to relax, and eventually to heal.

A stable support system will also be quite useful, so try reaching out a little bit; make consistent plans with your friends and family who you feel genuinely good being around, take a yoga or a gym class, volunteer at a charity with other like-minded kind people to become friends with. The sky is the limit, and your wonderful and supportive friends are out there waiting for you.

2. The Two Dancers

The two dancers uncover your romantic attitude about the world. Nevertheless, it’s one that you sometimes might try to conceal. You might genuinely value some of the closest people in your life, yet you're not able to let them know how incredibly significant they are to you as often as you would like. Think of a few small things you truly appreciate about them, and then the next time you meet them, express from your heart how much you love and value having them in your life.

An example of something that you could say is; “You know, I don’t always say it enough, but I truly and deeply appreciate how often you call me and check in on me to see that I’m doing alright. I really want you to know just how much I truly love you and appreciate your calls. Thank you so much.” That could be something large or something minute to mention, but the important thing is that you can communicate to them your heartfelt love and appreciation.

The two dancers might also represent a somewhat hidden desire to have more fun in your life, so consider trying something new, either an exciting class to learn how to draw or paint or traveling somewhere new.

3. The Older Man’s Face

If you initially saw the older man’s face, it not only means that you can see the bigger picture in day to day life without getting lost in the details, but also that you might be in a period of reflection while looking back on valuable times in your life.

There are moments in our lives sometimes when a gentle calling of what is truly important in our hearts speaks to us, and brings us to a place of stillness and ‘knowing’ inside. We start to reminisce and look back on times during which our hearts wanted to express more, or a person we wanted to show more love to, a kindness that we wished we had shared, or even a time where we felt happy to be alive and our heart remembers the deep loving gratitude we still feel for the people that helped us in those beautiful moments.

The key to remember during these moments of honest re-consideration is that something to learn is being shown to you; something to meet your heart’s need and to fulfill your heart’s request. The past is a lesson you can use to learn from and to help you live a better today, so if your heart and mind are fondly recounting something from the past, think about how you may bring forth that same love and kindness into your life today. Maybe somebody helped you at a vulnerable time in your life, and their kindness touched you and helped to make you into the type and sympathetic and compasstionate person you are today. Try to think of ways in which you may be able to pass on this same loving kindness to somebody you run into, even to someone you do not know at all, being aware that this act of love may assist them in ways you can never thought of. Your heart wants to expand by such means of love, so listen to what your heart says, and then enjoy following it, take some action, and make something beautiful happen in your life.
