A rally by the 'Birds aren't real' conspiracy theory group has caused the public to take an interest in the bizarre movement. However, some are pretty certain that the movement, which claims no real birds exist, is just satire.
The conspiracy theory claims that all real birds were killed off in 2001 and replaced by fake birds that act as drones. The group also claims this was done by Barack Obama, even though Obama didn't become president until 2008.
The group writes:
"Where it all began. October 26th, 2001. The day the deceitful and wicked Patriot Act was passed by congress. I can't watch these horrific videos in public, I tremble uncontrollably with rage. I sob. I can't keep quiet. After the government killed off the last real bird in 2001, they released the beta versions of the first prototype bird drones, as shown in these tapes. WHAT A COINCIDENCE that on October 27th, 2001, PEARL HARBOR happened. Yet no one seems to draw the correlation. Sheep. Call me misinformed, call me stupid, call me under-educated, I don't care. Just because I didn't go to 'high school' doesn't mean that I'm any less intelligent. I just haven't been brainwashed and institutionalized like you all. I know that I am #WOKE and one day you all will see."
The group believes the birds were killed off because the CIA was annoyed birds were pooping on the new cars bought by Americans, and also wished to keep an eye on the entire US population. As a result of this, the CIA literally 'killed two birds with one stone' and killed off all the birds and replaced them with spy drones which now video and record Americans going about their day-to-day lives.
The movement claims they have a transcript from the CIA, saying:
"In a stolen transcript from an ex-CIA deputy, she says, 'yeah, the higher-ups were so annoyed that birds had been dropping feacal matter on their car windows that they vowed to wipe out every single flying feathered creature in North America'."
The groups latest protest can be seen here, in which they were filmed for a recent documentary:
Many are pretty certain that the 'Bird's aren't real' movement isn't serious at all, but rather a clever way of poking fun at other' seriously taken' conspiracy theories such as 'flat-Earthers' and '9-11 truthers'.
