Guy Rented A Billboard To Share His Dog's Birthday With The World

Maxx Chewning wanted to do something great for his beloved dog Dood's first birthday, as any good dog parent would. But he took it one step further.

It just wasn't enough for his pup to have the time of his life. His whole Texas town had to know about it. And he found the best way to get his message out and share his love for his dog: he rented an electronic billboard for one day and put Dood's smiling face on it.

However, not all of Chewning's friends were as positive about his plans. Friends questioned why Chewning would pay to rent a billboard for his dog's birthday — particularly since Dood can't read. To Chewning, though, it was a worthwhile investment.

Since Dood came into Chewning's life, the pair have been inseparable.

When the big day arrived, Chewning filmed it all. He first drove Dood to Starbucks for a Puppuccino and then stopped by the billboard. Dood didn't appear too interested in the sign, so they continued with their plans.

They played a game of fetch, and Chewning presented Dood with a custom dog-friendly cake. In the evening, Chewning took Dood back to the billboard to see it all lit up.

You can watch the video of their cute day here:

Dood was excited to go on an adventure with his human and with all the treats he was getting. Whether or not the pup knew what was going on did not matter to Chewning. The important thing was that Dood got the best day a dog could ask for.
