Probably nobody would argue that some of us like to stick to the plan at whatever cost and some of us would rather go with the flow whenever possible. However, as the saying goes, man plans and God laughs. Despite one’s beliefs, all of us can find some beauty in the surprises life brings us. This particular British family has perhaps had more of them than anybody else, especially when it comes to parenthood. After having her youngest son, Rothagaidh, in 2016, Alexis Brett became the first mother in Britain to give birth to ten boys in a row and thought her family was complete. However, it later turned out that life had a little surprise planned for her and the entire family as well – a new addition. Therefore, she recently became a mother of 11 only at 39 years old. She has spent more than eight years being pregnant during the last 18 years of her life and is very happy with her big family.
After her long streak of baby boys, Alexis finally gave birth to a girl and decided to name her Cameron. The parents say their baby girl changed the family dynamics quite a bit with all the brothers being super attentive not to wake up their little sister and being more well-behaved in general. That sure brings much joy to the parents that say that last pregnancy was unplanned but got them over the moon, as they expected it would be yet another boy after finding out about expecting another baby. The delighted mother adds that they're definitely stopping now.
The family is used to people commenting, and not all the remarks are pleasant. Her husband is a train driver and leaves the house at about 5:30, leaving Alexis to use the little quiet time she's gotin the morning before the children wake up to enjoy a cup of coffee and a shower. Although life is not easy being a mom to 11 children as she has to do 49 loads of laundry per week and hoover seven times a day, the mother plans to get back to work soon as a part-time fitness instructor.
Of course, it isn't all sunshine and rainbows, as Alexis admits to exchanging looks with her husband David sometimes and thinking, “What have we done.” However, the kids always come up with something surprising then, melting the hearts of the parents and making it all worthwhile.
