Dealing with depression is challenging. However, British illustrator Gemma Correll uses her sense of humor while she deals with her everyday mood struggles. The artist has turned her depression and anxiety into beautiful illustrations anyone can relate to, and the results are stunning. She believes that although depression is devastating to live with, art can still be a form of self-care.
Her illustrations are relatable, funny and truthful, as they expose the dark side of depression, but keep a degree of carefree in the equation. This is something which will make any depressed individual feel less isolated.
