Teacher In Ghana Drew ‘MS Word’ On Chalkboard And Went Viral

A Facebook post by a teacher in Ghana has recently gone viral and won many people's hearts, thanks to his improvised and unique methods of teaching ICT (Information and Communications Technology), without using a computer!

Owura Kwadwo, originally from Kumasi, Ghana, has studied visual arts. He then decided to put these skills into practice when he had to teach his students the creation of a Word document. So, he drew a complete screenshot on the chalkboard for the students to copy and learn from.

His method appears to be working well, as the kids seem to enjoy his classes a lot and can learn effectively.

The post has led to heated discussion in Ghana. While most rightly praise Mr. Kwadwo for his devotion to his students and his genius improvisation, there's been outrage regarding why he had to go to these lengths in the first place. Why are schools still without a computer in 2018?

Mr. Kwadwo himself believes that things are slowly improving. Since his Facebook post went viral, he has received offers of donations for laptops and projectors, which is excellent news for the students and the school. Mr. Kwadwo is grateful for any help in creating a better experience for his students, while he also plans to help out other schools in the region.

Mr. Kwadwo’s efforts and commitment are a great example for teachers in developing countries such as Ghana, where a bit of improvisation is often needed to fill the gaps that governments can't fill. ICT is a crucial subject for the next generation. If Ghana is going to compete in the global marketplace, then with teachers like Mr. Kwadwoto there inspire students, things are definitely looking up!

  1. I looked forward to be a whole family again with a love spell, I actually got tired of living a depressing life. I was so unlucky that my husband fell out of love with me; he keeps threatening me with divorce paper almost everyday. But all I wanted in our home are positive thinking, love and happiness all the time. I wanted us to be good parent to our kids. When Dr. Wakina stepped in with his helping hands via dr.wakinalovetemple@gmail.com I began to feel lighter on the inside, I stopped having that heavy feeling on my chest during the process of the love spell. Two days after, my husband started exhibiting some positive character. He confessed that he was thinking of me more recently even when he was with his girlfriend. I was overwhelmed when he came to me and apologized for every wrong he has done to me, I also apologized to him as well. Dr. I just want to say thanks for the patience and kindness shown to me during the whole spell process. My husband and I has been living happily after the love spell, none of his exs ever comeback.

  2. I'm glad such teachers exist and help students get the basics even this way. I'm getting my bachelor's degree in artificial intelligence and do my homework for money at Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science. We want to use a program to backup our university projects data. Our teacher explained MS Word to us with a visualization kit by STEM oriented company and some students were lazy to learn it even this way.
