Meet Yeti, Odlin, Sampson, and Apolo: they are four of the rarest big cats - ligers - in the world!

These beautiful brothers are ligers—lion-tiger hybrids. They are extremely rare. There are only approximately 1,000 of them in the world, while most of the animals live in captivity.

These four are even rarer than other ligers, as they are believed to be the first white ligers that have ever been born!

Ivory, a white lion, and Saraswati, a white tiger, are the brothers' parents. White lions and tigers are also rare, as there are only 1,200 white tigers and 300 white lions worldwide.

Ivory and Saraswati, as well as their cubs, live at the T.I.G.E.R. Sanctuary in Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.

The sanctuary has successfully bred ligers before. One of their ligers, Hercules, is the world's largest cat, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Hercules is 922 pounds; however, despite his big size, he is still a sweetheart that loves playing with his handlers and his new nephews.

Hercules’s nephews might be tiny now, but soon, they will be just as big as their uncle.

Yeti, Odlin, Sampson, and Apolo are gaining approximately a pound of weight a day. Dr. Antle, the founder of the T.I.G.E.R Sanctuary, is stunned by the cubs’ growth. He said to the Daily Mail in an interview:

“I skip a day seeing them, and it looks like they’ve doubled in size. It’s like someone’s blowing them up with a tire pump.”

The liger cubs like swimming like tigers and are sociable like lions. They also have unique personality traits. Apollo is actually the smallest of the four, and he behaves the most like a house cat. He loves curling up with his handlers and having them pet him.

Yeti, at the same time, is the most boisterous of the four, and he always loves to be the center of attention. The little animal is also the biggest of the four cats—Dr. Antle thinks that he might end up even being bigger than his uncle, Hercules.

By the time they are two years old, Dr. Antle estimates that all the four cats will be at the very least 10 feet tall and weigh approximately 750 pounds. It is hard to imagine these tiny animals getting that big!

The four liger cubs are super unique. Have a look at the video below to see the adorable cats in action!

  1. We all need to understand that animals and birds are all an important part of the environment on our planet.
If we continue to hunt these awesome cats, to destroy their habitat, and to pollute the planet, this place will look like hell.
We need to learn how to protect nature knowing the environmental concerns of today because only this way, all the animals and plants will be protected.
