Born in Kenya and based in New Zealand artist Gordon Pembridge has created a lifelong relationship with nature. This bond with Mother Earth is frequently the basic source of inspiration for his amazing wooden vessels that depict elements of natural history and portray colorful local wildlife.

Gordon Pembridge collects most of his timber from storm-felled trees and forms it with a lathe. However, the true magic appears when he flawlessly hand-carves detailed nature scenes with a high-speed engraver. These usually include flora and fauna from his favorite places - Africa and Oceania. Lastly, Gordon shapes fitting color compositions and applies them with an airbrush.
