A major cryptocurrency exchange has embarked on a mission to save the environment and is getting help in doing so from supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
Cryptocurrency exchange FTX is one of the biggest crypto exchanges in the world on which investors and speculators can purchase and exchange cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.
FTX is now launching a major print ad campaign which highlights its commitment to philanthropy, explains how FTX can improve the world, and outlines its $1 billion in charitable spending through the FTX Foundation's Climate and Community fund
The print ad campaign will feature in famed magazines such as Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, and The New Yorker in a campaign being run by co-founder and CEO Sam Bankman-Fried.
The campaign was announced at the 2022 Crypto Bahamas conference, at which Bundchen said:
"There are so many things that we can do, and it can sometimes be overwhelming. Still, I think: What can I do to be of service in whatever way I can?"
Bankman-Fried has stated that the fund's first goal is pandemic prevention and will assist in investing in early detection and vaccines for future potential pandemics to avoid a re-run of the Covid pandemic. The fund will then move onto missions such as preventing climate change.
Bankman-Fried has already stated that he will give away 99% of his $24 billion fortune to good causes and is a known financial political campaign backer, giving $5.2 million to Joe Biden's successful 2020 presidential campaign.
Bundchen has served as a United Nations Environment Program goodwill ambassador and has a passion for defending the environment, saying previously:
"I try my best to bring attention to those things related to if we don't have clean soil, clean water, we need all of that to survive, no matter where you are, or where you're from."
Bundchen and her husband Tom Brady are known investors in cryptocurrency and FTX, holding an equity stake.
