Doc Jon, a Florida-based fine-art nature photographer, was walking along a beach when he took an unbelievable photograph showing the food chain: an osprey carrying a shark that was carrying a fish.

Since the seahawk was a bit further away, the photographer initially believed that he had caught an ordinary picture of a bird carrying a fish in its talons. But when he zoomed in on his photographs at his computer, he was shocked to discover that there was a shark in the bird’s grasp and also a fish in the shark’s mouth.

“The best photo I have ever taken! (By content, not quality),” Jon wrote on Facebook. “These are NOT Photoshopped.”

“This is a one-in-a-trillion photograph,” Jon told FOX 13.

Here are several alternate views Jon managed to capture in the same scene:

The pictures were captured with a Canon 6D and a Sigma 150-500mm lens without a tripod. Fstoppers reports that Jon initially caught the bird 400 feet above him after a passerby asked him what his lens could capture.

It is estimated that the shark in the photograph is about 1 foot long.
